My first 'Black Swallowtail' in the back yard. I usually get Monarchs and Eastern Tiger Swallowtails the most. Interesting how each butterfly actually behaves differently while feeding.
Mark 11 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Magnanimously homeschooling, worshiping, creating.......
Join us on a journey of faith, healing, learning to live with part of our hearts missing, and recovery, as our family rebuilds our lives, after our son's long battle with cancer....and his eventual rise on eagle's wings into Heaven...victory is his...he is serving the King!!!

flower dye continued
Day 3 |
Well, what do you think?
My observation is twofold...
1. Peonies are not a great flower for this project in relation to the fact that this flower, quite frankly, does not live long outdoors let alone in a vase in the house...hence the droopiness.
2. I feel as though I am observing a slightly more intense blue at the tips, but not actually more diffusion throughout the petals.
What do you think?
See you on day 4.

It's peony season!
Isn't this the most beautiful picture of God's creation? Look at the soft, layers and layers of petals.

wordfew wednesday
Ahhhh......here's a little encouragement....Spring is finally here.
I am giddy with excitement, to see this marvelous little tiny flower poking through the grass.
Where have all my crocuses gone? Can they stop popping out of the ground?
Spring was Braveheart's favorite season. This I knew for sure. He has said it so many times. The Earth is teeming with life, always moving forward, even though my sweet boy is not here with us. Everything, as I look around, reminds me of him. His absence is still felt acutely.
My husband and I often remind each other, like a blanket of comfort, that B is enjoying a perpetual Spring, in Heaven, happy as ever, serving his King.
It is fascinating how one can long to live, to care for those left to us here, love one another and yet, I can't wait to get to that Glorious forever home to be with a dear one, missing from our hearts.

Wordfew Wednesday
Do you like my new term for 'Wordless Wednesday'? I love photography and I love posting pics and letting the picture speak for itself, but I can rarely refrain from commenting on said picture, so...I decided to call it 'Wordfew Wednesday'.
Clever? or A Bust?
I don't usually like using caps in my titles either, just for fun, however, I made an exception here, what do you think?

Braveheart and blueberries...
I was finally able to spend part of the weekend learning some new aspects of photo editing, including watermarking my photos. I am pleased with the results above. My blueberry loving boy would be proud.
I rewrote my last blog post, because I wanted to share this beautiful picture with you all on a separate post. Why? Because this one is for Braveheart. Our dear, sweet boy, whom we love and miss soooo much.
He LOVED blueberries....and birds, but that is another post. Every time I eat a blueberry, I think of my dear boy. It is one of my favorite memories etched into my heart forever. He requested them often.
We are eating our blueberries for you my love!
This picture was taken of Braveheart by a friend, shortly before his transplant in the fall of 2011.

reminiscing with photos
I have been spending some time organizing my photos. Waiting patiently for the sales to go on so I can clear up my blog and put pics on there again. I finally got that done today! Wow, I am now printing out 2009. So surreal to go through those. Braveheart looking so good, we thinking he was going to finish this and be done forever. Sometimes our timing isn't the Lord's timing. I know he will be healed, I just know it! It just feels weird to look back on our journey and be where we are now. It hurts a little. When the cancer comes back, it is harder to cure. Kids are so different from adults. His is so fast, it gives us little time and less choices! That can be very hard to swallow. I am strong though, HE makes us pillars of iron..look in Jeremiah! God's word is healing and it gives so much good word to live and speak out over our lives...thank you Jesus for our boy!

Why MAGNANIMOUS?
Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary of the American Language defines Magnanimity as such:
MAGNANIM'ITY, n. [L. magnanimitas; magnus, great, and animus, mind.] Greatness of mind; that elevation or dignity of soul, which encounters danger and trouble with tranquillity and firmness, which raises the possessor above revenge, and makes him delight in acts of benevolence, which makes him disdain injustice and meanness, and prompts him to sacrifice personal ease, interest and safety for the accomplishment of useful and noble objects.
