happy birthday to the best mom/ grandma in the world!!!

How can one express the gratitude one has for such a special grandma? How can one show the gratefulness needed for a mother that loves and gives so freely, fully, selflessly, humbly, generously, unconditionally, continually....giving up everything for our family always but especially during this last year of our unique trials. I could go on and on. Writing this made me realize I need to get separate and group grandma photos way more often!!

mother, how can we express
our love for you and
how you bless

the never ending hours you give
the hugs, the love,
the way you live

grandma, how can we tell you
the way you're there
you come through

even as you soar above
in your plane
we feel your love

but we know within our heart
you'd give it up
right from the start

if that is what you'd have to do
to help your family
out it's true

we know you've done it all before
to help in trials
of those you adore

all the prayers you freely pray
your precious boy
so ill that day

you put your arms around your brood
always giving and
doing good

glad the Lord provided you
to be around and
coming through

thank you beloved grandma /mother
for all of us
there can be no other.....

Thank you mom / grandma, for all you've done, for being there, you're the best and we couldn't have gone through this last year without you!!!

God Bless YOU.

crocheting for damsel

Here's some new colors damsel girl picked out for her crochet blanket. We bought these awhile back. Aren't they gorgeous? I didn't have enough leftovers for hers and I was excited to try some nice wool yarn. This is so fun to work between my finger as it flows so light and carefree.
This will not be a 'crazy' blanket since my girl has absolute ideas about what colors she wants and what order they are to be placed in....:)

Isn't this basket adorable? I love it for a crochet project as it is easy to grab colors, store and move the whole lot about for easy start and clean up each day.

I had an aching desire to try out a ripple pattern and talked A into it. I love it so far. It is so cuddly already.

had a quick sewing fest

I had a bit of a sewing fest prior to my crochet fest and had fun making some jammie bottoms for the damsel girl. The long pants are a vintage pillow case!! It was fun. I managed to play around with some of my bias tape for the edging, while using up some old fabric lying around.

it's finished!!

Isn't this just scrumptious looking? It makes me want to jump in and take a swim over the fluid waves of loveliness. This was such therapeutic, fun goodness folks! Also, it turned out extremely huge but was it ever fun. We are talking alice in wonderland huge! Not kidding but I will maybe put some altering skills into action one day but for now it is some accomplished eye candy and still holds all that yarn very nicely! Oh, how I adore the flowers!!

crafting fabric cards

I can't help it, I am on a creative binge right now. Do you ever just want to read books and crafts, sew/ create?? Ugh. Do I have to stop to feed my family dinner? It's ok to just throw something at them and hope they catch, is it not? :) Just kidding, I feed them well still. I am using up whatever I have here in case you didn't hear that Glenn is laid off. I am looking forward to the challenge. Joy cannot be stolen from me.
I am so enjoying not doing any teaching....we are still reading and choring and such, but I have FREEEED my my mind from that right now and just healing my feet up. This is my 'vacation', my 'therapy'.
Anyway, here is a picture of my fabric card I made for my neice. It was very fun and satisfying. I will show you some other things soon. Damsel will be making one for a friend too.
I don't know why this is coming in sideways but you get the idea.

i found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's true!! I found it! Thanks to all of you that prayed so valiantly for me and my poor little missing box of vintage accessories! I can't even tell you how I was singing, shouting, praising out to the Lord over this! Can't you tell by all my exclamation marks?? Yeah!!!! It was down in the bottom of the only bin that I didn't scrounge through thoroughly enough!

THANK YOU

countdown to a cure

Only 10 more to go!! We are so excited. Braveheart is feeling so good with all this lower dosing and holding of chemo. One more week on hold. I am elated for this break as I think it is orchestrated from the Lord Himself as a way to keep him safe from the long term effects of the chemo. He is holding on to my boy real tight. I am resting in joy, waiting on the Lord and full of peace. I am praising God for it. Thanks for your continual prayers for his complete healing and for our being sustained through this difficult ordeal in our lives.

keep 'er biking

Our girls had another Keeper meeting. The girls learned bike safety and signals. It was quite educational and fun! I didn't realize how little 'official' terminology I managed to neglect with my youngest little rider. :)

Did someone say warthog thunderbolt!!!???

Well, Braveheart had a special night at the zoo planned last weekend during the airshows, but there was this huge hail storm out there, so that was cancelled of coarse. However, the organization in the area that planned this and other fun activities for kids with cancer, set up a meeting for B and some pilots of some really cool planes to come and meet with him. He hit it off real well with all the pilots but especially with one named Ben. He got to go to the airshow twice for a close up at the A10 WARTHOG THUNDERBOLT 2 and watching them fly! Dad was thrilled to be the one to accompany him to all the events.
Here are some other photos of them admiring the plane. What a
great privilege.

My mom got to stop by as well to check it out and you can imagine how proud she
was since she's a pilot and all!

the BRAVEST little crazy crocheted blanket

I love this crazy crocheting..it is right up my alley. This is my bedtime, put my sick feet up, listen to audiobooks project. Talk about multi-tasking. That is how I got it done so quickly.

You know what I love even better than making these things for my kidlets? How much they truly love the finish product. It's like music to my ears as they all ask who gets the next one and what colors theirs should be.

For those of you who are wondering when I will be posting the damsel quilt, I must make a confession that while cleaning out the basement this spring, the box with all the accesories for the sewing machine crashed to the ground and was hastily picked up and set in something until later and is eluding me!! Please pray with me as I hope that I did not throw it out accidentally!! Ugh. That has my walking foot, darning foot, button hole maker.....

Why MAGNANIMOUS?

Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary of the American Language defines Magnanimity as such:
MAGNANIM'ITY, n. [L. magnanimitas; magnus, great, and animus, mind.] Greatness of mind; that elevation or dignity of soul, which encounters danger and trouble with tranquillity and firmness, which raises the possessor above revenge, and makes him delight in acts of benevolence, which makes him disdain injustice and meanness, and prompts him to sacrifice personal ease, interest and safety for the accomplishment of useful and noble objects.
