comfy blanket progress...

I absolutely LOVE pictures of crochet blankets and loveliez coming together...love the colors....
It's hard to believe that I haven't even gotten through all 15 of the colors yet. I have had a small set back with a little abdominal surgery, which has slowed me down in the crocheting department, but I am getting back in the groove!

comfy blanket:keeping track of color

KEEPING TRACK

I have developed my own system for keeping track, more purposefully, of my color order, for this particular project.
I love to have a basket, a place to hold all my yarn in a given endeavor. I found this adorable basket at a resale shop, clean and long, but it still needed a pretty quilt to keep the yarn from catching.

I created my color 'swatches', which were pre-determined and now I hang them from the edge of said basket, in the order in which I would like to crochet them. I will re-determine the next round of colors, after I have done through this round.

Here are my first three colors or 6 rows. I had to get the hang of this simple, but new pattern, but once I did, I really was on a major roll.

I LOVE the way the sun is hitting the soft stitches...I am very pleased with how this looks.

remember this crochet lovely?

Do you all remember these sweet little flower granny squares I was working on awhile back? Well, I got it out again and I am determined to finish it even though I am up to my eyeballs with house work, yard work and graduation open house getting readiness!! I absolutely need to get my hands on any of the unused colors for my other project I am working on. I am going to try to sell some of my homemades to help raise money for some bills that have to be paid, so if you happen to know someone who loves my crazy crochet style blankets, please send them my way.
Here it is...

I think it looks a bit like a tasty rainbow sherbet treat, don't you?

Why MAGNANIMOUS?

Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary of the American Language defines Magnanimity as such:
MAGNANIM'ITY, n. [L. magnanimitas; magnus, great, and animus, mind.] Greatness of mind; that elevation or dignity of soul, which encounters danger and trouble with tranquillity and firmness, which raises the possessor above revenge, and makes him delight in acts of benevolence, which makes him disdain injustice and meanness, and prompts him to sacrifice personal ease, interest and safety for the accomplishment of useful and noble objects.
