GOOD FRIDAY

A day to remember what the Lord did for little ol' me and us all! Thank you Jesus.

Mark 15:25
It was the third hour when they crucified Him.
Romans 6:6
knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;

Heavenly Series

Chip Ingram is a great bible teacher. Here is his series on Heaven. I don't know for sure how long it will be available for free to listen to online. I find it very comforting to listen to all I can about Heaven, what Braveheart is doing, what it's like for him, until we get there one day.

wordfew wednesday

Ahhhh......here's a little encouragement....Spring is finally here.
I am giddy with excitement, to see this marvelous little tiny flower poking through the grass.
Where have all my crocuses gone? Can they stop popping out of the ground?
Spring was Braveheart's favorite season. This I knew for sure. He has said it so many times. The Earth is teeming with life, always moving forward, even though my sweet boy is not here with us. Everything, as I look around, reminds me of him. His absence is still felt acutely.
My husband and I often remind each other, like a blanket of comfort, that B is enjoying a perpetual Spring, in Heaven, happy as ever, serving his King.
It is fascinating how one can long to live, to care for those left to us here, love one another and yet, I can't wait to get to that Glorious forever home to be with a dear one, missing from our hearts.

warm weather, birthdays and gardens...oh my

Here are the seedlings I bought from Azure. On a whim, because the warm weather and sunshine made it impossible not to, I carved out a half hour to tidy up part of my garden and get these cool loving plants in the ground. I tried to keep the garden simple and plant things I will eat...nothing else. This is only about an 1/8th of my garden. The soil made me so happy, it was moist, dark, pleasant smelling and full of moist, active worms. That's right....NO TILLING NEEDED!!! Nothing could make this gardener more happy! My hubs was not so sure, since he loves preparing my garden for me. No worries honey, there is still much to be done. :)
I will try to work on a little section at a time, since my adrenals do not like it when I work too long in the garden.

You can't see the large pile of debris on the burn pile or compost bin, but it's there and I purposely left all the leaves at the fence due to creeping charlie, the weed that keeps on coming. UGH.

We had a fabulously beautiful day celebrating daddy's birthday on Sunday. I am so thankful for this loving, steady man. We have really been through the fire together and with God as our shield, we have clung to Him and one another. We will love and care for the ones God has left here for us to care for (Gold leader is all grown up) and we will see our dear boy again one day. We miss you Braveheart!
We will have joy.
Even when our hearts know the kind of loss that one ever wants to know.
We have joy for them...
For each other....

bad looking cookies...it's all good...

Ninja son has been hinting at me...well, if you call 'make me some chocolate chip cookies, mama', said with those big 'aren't I cute?' eyes, hinting.
He says it in that sweet, butter you up voice that is hard to resist. I am so busy that trying to work in cookies is a bit daunting. I try to keep healthy snacks in the house, but home made, choc chip cookies with freshly ground white wheat berries.....
some days, you gotta have 'em.
(unless you are gluten free like me and the Damsel)

I pray about it.

Soon, with answered prayer, my brain finds a way to fit it into my afternoon.
 I want to do this.
I love to bless my boys with little home made treats...whenever you can love on, hug on, and speak goodness into the hearts of your teenage boys...it's a good thing. Sometimes, it is done through cookies and that's ok.

Note to self: Don't melt the butter for cookies, there is a reason it calls for 'room temperature' butter.

Either way, they don't look good, but the taste is all that matters! Especially when you are feeding the hearts and minds of young men.

live plants delivered

I am really excited about my live plants that came from Azure Standard yesterday! I love to garden...I love to keep it simple...I love to buy seedlings when I can...I love it when they are heirloom seeds/ seedlings or organic....I love supporting small business.....so when I saw these I was quite giddy inside...I wasn't sure what to expect....ta da...

Look how pretty!
I have started plants inside before.
I have had a good year with it before.
I have had bad results some years.
It is not my season right now.
I am ok with that.

Currently, my time is devoted to caring for my family, cooking autoimmune healing meals, homeschooling, and learning how to use my new camera...well.
Have I mentioned I love taking photographs?
Love it!

Oh my, I am in love with my 'brown rice crispy cereal'.  It's low sodium, with just a few ingredients. So if I am going to get a prepackaged food, this is my favorite choice. ( I will share my favorite new breakfast soon)    I usually get Barbara's Bakery brand, but I bought this bulk cereal that was significantly cheaper. I will be testing it out, to see if it makes the cut. So far so good.

Why MAGNANIMOUS?

Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary of the American Language defines Magnanimity as such:
MAGNANIM'ITY, n. [L. magnanimitas; magnus, great, and animus, mind.] Greatness of mind; that elevation or dignity of soul, which encounters danger and trouble with tranquillity and firmness, which raises the possessor above revenge, and makes him delight in acts of benevolence, which makes him disdain injustice and meanness, and prompts him to sacrifice personal ease, interest and safety for the accomplishment of useful and noble objects.
